Let my start off by saying,my seniors have made my job so easy! All the girls I took photos for were gorgeous inside and out. I was all smiles while shooting their photos and editing after!

Sarah contacted me late in the season wondering if I had any free spaces for senior portraits. Luckily, I did! She told me what her style was and what she was looking for and as soon as she said “Urban Outfitters and Forever 21″ I knew would we would get along just fine! I am so pleased with how her portraits came out and I hope you see her personality shine through them! Here are just a few of my favorites from her shoot

The money shot.

Every photographer should have one. Whether it be framing a particular way or using nature to edit your images. I’ve had both in the three years of shooting. Last senior season my signature shot was a mix of “the body shot” (I’ll explain more below) and the “sun flood” shot. Both, in my mind, are equally awesome. But this senior season, I’ve been leaning more toward the lovely sunlight. Because I am a natural light photographer, the sun is my best friend. I just say no to that dang artificial lighting. It doesn’t impress me UNLESS it’s used for an event of upscale indoor model shoot. But I have never understood why someone would use it outside on days that God has provided beautiful sun. Everyone has their own style, I suppose. For this gal, the sun is my friend. No need for cheap looking photo-shopped sun flares when you have a massive tool waiting to be used outside. The only issue is you gotta know when it’s the right weather, time, and angle. That’s an acquired talent. Here are a few examples of my favorite shots:

These are just a few of my favorites from past shoots. When I get my own office one day, I guarantee each one of these will be framed:) Make sure you create your own signature shot. Anytime I show someone my photography, they say “oh you like sunlight huh??” That’s awesome!! The fact that people can notice that about me without me having to say anything is amazing. Melissa {2011}

Wowza, my seniors have been rocking this year! I didn’t advertise myself much this year because I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to handle too much business due to school and other responsibilities. But for the seniors that I did shoot…wow they have blown me away! Just when I think “this is my best work”, God completely blows me away with what he provides.

I met Melissa in the fall  at one of the LSU football games. Instantly, we hit it off. When she came to me about taking her senior pictures, I was thrilled! One, this gal is good-lookin’. She has a great sense of style and the attitude to go with it. Two, she knows how to work the camera. Alexandra and I kept joking that she MUST have been practicing poses prior to the shoot. Three, she isn’t afraid to cut up right along with me! I hope you enjoy these as much as I have!!

Spring Break y’all

I have been busy busy busy. It’s hard to find time to sit down and blog when I’m juggling editing three photo-shoots, schoolwork, and that dreaded art portfolio. Which, by the way, is due when I get back from spring break.

I just wanted to update you a little bit and inform you that I am still alive and kicking. Just kicking a little slower than normal. I cannot wait to be  covered in tanning oil laying on my dock soaking up all the Vitamin D possible. I’m way over the fact that it’s damaging my skin. I’m pretty sure my brain has more damage right now due to overloads of homework, tests, quizzes, and projects. I just want to be able to lay down, read a book, and do absolutely nothing for a weekend. I don’t want to have to worry about finishing homework, making phone calls, going to meetings, or anything else my weeks consist of.

For Spring Break, AZ, Emily, Mother, and I are taking a girl’s trip to the family camp in Toledo Bend. I haven’t been since last summer and I am quite frankly freaking pumped! Bring on the baby oil, aloe, and sun. It’s time to get my bronze on.

Kelsey {2011}

When Kelsey contacted me about taking her senior pictures, there was zero hesitation! Can you blame me?! Look how gorgeous she is. Not only is she beautiful on the outside by just talking to her and being around her, I saw how beautiful she is on the inside. Her walk with the Lord is beyond inspiring and quite challenging to me. It was a blessing to be able to capture these photos for her! I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
